Setmana Ciclista Valenciana starts with a grate participation

Serrano theater, in Gandia, has hosted this afternoon the presentation of the 26 teams that will participate in III Setmana Ciclista Valenciana, a stage trial (2.2) of the European women's calendar of the International Cycling Union (UCI), which will be played from this Thursday and until Sunday, February 24.

In Setmana Ciclista Valenciana will take part finally 176 cyclists who have been presented on the stage of the majestic building of the ducal city.

The participating squads will be Canyon Sram Racing (Germany), Bigla (Denmark), Movistar Team (Spain), Alé Cipollini (Italy), FDJ Nouvelle Aquitaine Futuroscope (France), WNT Rotor (Germany), Boels Dolman (Holland), Team Sunweb (Holland), CCC-Liv (Holland), Trek-Segafredo (USA), Valcar-Cylance (Italy), Bizkaia-Durango (Spain), Doltcini-Van Eyck Sport (Belgium), Drops (United Kingdom), Health Mate ( Belgium), Lotto Soudal (Belgium), Sopela (Spain), Charente-Maritime (France), Massi-Tactic (Spain), Norway Team (Norway), MEXX-Watersley International (Netherlands), Re-Max (Switzerland), DN Bio Frais (France), Team Stuttgart (Germany), Le Boulou (France) and Delikia-Ginestar (Spain).

Hosted in Gandia, cyclists like Chantal Blaak, Coryn Rivera, Ashley Moolman-Pasio, Elisa Longo Borghini or the winners of 2017, Cecilie Uttrup Luwdig, and 2018, Hannah Barnes, will try to fight for the race. from this Thursday.

The ceremony was attended by the mayor of Gandia, Diana Morant, who has welcomed all cyclists, technicians and team assistants and has put in value the bet of the organization for women's cycling.

The president of Club Ciclista Escapada and director of Setmana Ciclista Valenciana, Rubén Donet, has also wished the teams a happy stay in Comunitat Valenciana and has predicted that the 2019 round "will be even more spectacular if that last year's".

The first stage will start this Thursday, at one in the afternoon, from the Valencian municipality of Cullera, in the La Ribera Baixa region. The cyclists will have to face a winding 126 km route, a leg breaking stage with two scoring ports, Barxeta (3rd) and Barx (2nd), the latter only 13 km from the finish line located on Avenida de the Argentine Republic of Gandia. The day will serve to meet the first leader of the race.
