Setmana Ciclista Valenciana - Vuelta Comunidad Valenciana Féminas will hold its third edition between February 21st and 24th. This Wednesday the test was presented during an event held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Education, Research, Culture and Sports of Generalitat Valenciana.

It has been attended by the Minister Vicent Marzà, as well as numerous mayors and councilors of the municipalities that will welcome the departures and arrivals of the different stages.

Setmana Ciclista Valenciana will start on Thursday, February 21 from Cullera and end on Sunday, February 24 in Sagunt. The 176 runners spread over 26 teams will have to face four stages and a total of 440 kilometers.

"This year we will have the great fortune to count on the roads of the Valencian Community with many of the best cyclists in the world, 9 of the 10 best teams - if we look at the UCI world ranking of 2018 - will participate. Among the cyclists, of 37 different nationalities, highlights the winners of the Setmana Ciclista Valenciana of 2017 and 2018, the Danish Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig and the British Hannah Barnes.We also hope that the last two world champions, the Dutch Anna van der Breggen and Chantal Blaak, with her team Boel Dolmans ", announced Rubén Donet, president of the Club Ciclista Escapada and director of the event.

Among the participating teams there will be 21 foreigners from countries such as Germany, Denmark, Italy, France, Holland, United States, Belgium, United Kingdom, Norway and Switzerland. In addition, five Spanish formations, including a Valencian one, will compete.

The Minister of Education, Research, Culture and Sports of Generalitat Valenciana, Vicent Marzà, a great fan of cycling, stressed that the sporting component "we must add the courage to be an international test only female, which also spreads our territory." Marzà has reaffirmed the support of the Ministry towards the test "through a budget line that helps those tests that are eligible for world or European championships and are held in the Valencian Country" and reported that this year "we have been able to increase the help and we have reached 50,000 euros."

Rubén Donet has also stressed that organizing a race of this magnitude "requires a lot of work and many complicities especially with public administrations and private companies." In this way, Donet thanked "the support of the Generalitat Valenciana, the three councils and all the municipalities that help us by welcoming an exit or a stage arrival: Cullera, Gandia, Borriol, Villarreal, La Nucia, Valencia and Sagunto."

Donet has not forgotten the "fundamental role played by the bodies and security forces of the State, especially the Traffic Civil Guard, when it comes to ensuring the safety of the entire caravan that moves more than 700 people."

The ceremony was also attended by the president of the Federació de Ciclisme de la Comunitat Valenciana, Amadeo Olmos, who highlighted the good moment that women's cycling is going through "with more licenses, more teams and more races than a few years ago".

The Setmana Ciclista Valenciana will count this year with the support of private firms such as Ale, Citroen Gandia, Banco Mediolanum, Dominio de la Vega Winery, Villareal Club de Fútbol, Sastrería JAJOAN, CERATIZIT Group, Delikia, Fan Color, Granja Rinya or SLT .

As it happened last year, the last kilometers of each stage can also be followed in streaming and a giant screen will be installed near the finnish line so that fans and fans know at all times how the race is.
