Gandia will know the first leader of III Setmana Ciclista Valenciana - Vuelta Comunidad Valenciana Féminas

The delegated councilor of Sports of the City Council of Gandia, Lydia Morant, accompanied by the president of Club Ciclista Escapada, Rubén Donet, has presented this Thursday in press conference the arrival of the first stage of III Setmana Ciclista Valenciana - Vuelta Comunidad Valenciana Féminas, that will take place next February 21st.

The first stage, which will start from Cullera, will end at the República Argentina Avenue in Gandia, after 126 kilometers.
Morant has expressed his satisfaction for hosting, one more year in Gandia, a stage of this women's cycling event. Around 700 people belonging to the participating teams, event organization and media will be staying during those days in Gandia. "It leaves a very important economic impact for our city and projects us out of doors as a city where we practice sport with full guarantees and where we bet on women's sport, for equality in sport," said the councilor.

The sport event is organized by Club Ciclista Escapada in collaboration with the councils of the municipalities through which the race takes place, provincial councils and Generalitat Valenciana.

For his part, Donet thanked the City Council of Gandia as well as the rest of the administrations and private entities for the support for the realization of this sport event "since without them it would not be possible to carry out an event of this magnitude". He also stated that this test is included in the European calendar of the International Cycling Union (ICU) and a total of 176 female cyclists from 37 different nationalities, belonging to 26 teams, 5 of them national and 21 international. "As a novelty this year participates the Valencian female team Delika Ginestar," confirmed the president of the organizing entity.

As for the route, III Setmana Ciclista Valenciana (SCV) will consist of four stages in line. The first, on Thursday, February 21st, is the longest with 126 kilometers. It will depart from Cullera, with a special sprint in Alzira and two scoring mountain passes, Barxeta (3rd category) and Barx (2nd category), to finish in Gandia. The arrival of the riders is scheduled around 4.30 pm.
