Vila-Real keeps its idyll with Setmana Ciclista Valenciana and it will be stage end again

The best female cycling in the world returns to Vila-Real on February 22nd. For the third consecutive year, the city will host a stage of Setmana Ciclista Valenciana - Vuelta Comunidad Valenciana Féminas, which is integrated "in a year marked by cycling in the city", as affirmed by Sports Councilor Javier Serralvo, accompanied by the president of Club Ciclista Escapada, Rubén Donet.

Setmana Ciclista Valenciana will be, according to Serralvo, "another example of our involvement with sport and, especially, with women's cycling, as well as with the generation of economy and tourism for our city".

The second stage will be placed entirely in the province of Castellón. "Cyclists will leave Borriol at 1:30 pm and the arrival of the first runner is expected over 16 hours next to the Ceramics Stadium, where a giant screen will also be installed to continue the race," said Rubén Donet.

In 2017, Vila-Real hosted the inaugural team time trial of the race. That day the victory was for the Italians of Bepink Cogeas and it supposed that the first leader's jersey came to the Italian also Silvia Valsechi.

In 2018, Vila-Real was the end of an in-line stage that was decided in the sprint. The fastest was another Italian, in this case Marta Bastianelli, of the Ale - Cipollini team.
