III Setmana Ciclista Valenciana / Vuelta Comunidad Valenciana Féminas 2019

From February 21st to 25th, it will take place the third edition of Setmana Ciclista Valenciana (Vuelta Comunidad Valenciana Féminas), test 2.2 organized by Club Ciclista Escapada in the Valencian Community (Comunitat Valenciana) and included in the European calendar of the International Cycling Union (ICU). A total of 26 teams, 5 of them from Spain and 21 international ones, adding up 176 cyclists from a variety of European countries.

Itinerary

The Setmana Ciclista Valenciana of 2019 will consist of four stages in line. Llike the previous editions, this one will be present once again in the three provinces of the Valencian Community: Castelló, València and Alicante.


Stage 1

CULLERA - GANDIA
DATE: 21/02/2019 | DISTANCE: 126 km

The first stage of Setmana Ciclista Valenciana will take place on Thursday February 21st at 13:30h in Plaza de la Verge in Cullera, in the region of La Ribera Baixa, and will also pass by La Ribera Alta and La Costera, ending in Gandia, capital of La Safor. It is a 126km stage, the longest one, with a special sprint in Alzira and two scoring mountain passes: in Barxeta (3rd category) and in Barx (2nd category), the last one ending at 13km from the finish line in the centre of Gandia, where we will know the first tour leader.

Stage 2

BORRIOL - VILA-REAL
DATE: 22/02/2019 | DISTANCE: 100 km

The second stage will take place in the province of Castelló. 100km that will start at 13:30h in Camino Pecuario street in Borriol, in La Plana Alta, and will pass through Cabanes, Benlloch, Vall d'Alba and Vilafamés. Then, it will make a little incursion to the region of L'Alcalatén passing through L'Alcora and following through Ribesalbes and Onda, already in the region of La Plana Baixa, where we will enjoy a special sprint, to end in Vila-Real, next to Cerámica Stadium.

Stage 3

LA NUCIA - CASTALLA (XORRET DE CATÍ)
DATE: 23/02/2019 | DISTANCE: 110 km

This third stage presents us the province of Alicante. Starting at 13:00h in Ciutat Esportiva Camilo Cano in La Nucia (La Marina Baixa), from where it takes place to Benidorm and moves forward in parallel with the coastline until Campello (L'Alacantí), passing through La Vila Joiosa. From here the tour brakes in direction to Busot and turns towards Mutxamel, following through Sant Vicent del Raspeig and Agost, to go deep into the region of L'Alcoià climbing the mountain pass of El Maigmó (2nd category) and passing through Castalla until another mountain pass in top of Xorret de Catí, a special category one, where is placed the finish line. The total distance is 110km.

Stage 4

VALÈNCIA - SAGUNT
DATE: 24/02/2019 | DISTANCE: 104 km

The forth and last stage will return to the province of València to say goodbye to this competition. It will have a distance of 104km, starting at 11:00h from Paseo de la Alameda in the city of València and leaving the region of L'Horta after passing through Moncada to go deep into El Camp de Túria through Nàquera, where we will find a special sprint. The race will follow through Serra heading for the 2nd category mountain pass of L'Oronet. Going down of the mountain pass, it will head to the region of El Camp de Morvedre through Quartell and later heading to Sagunt, where they will do one more turn to the route followed through Quartell and finishing in Sagunt, where we will finally know the champion of III Setmana Ciclista Valenciana.
